Postgraduate students’ training with a German lecturer within the framework of the DAAD project has been completed at UEPA

The course “Theory and Methodology of Scientific Work”, taught by Oksana Melnyk, a lecturer at the Department of Business and Economic Education I of the University of Konstanz (Germany), has been successfully completed at UEPA within the project “Digital Ukraine: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis” of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The course covered the topics of planning a research project and finding a research topic, formulating a research question and research objective, the structure of a scientific written work (article), types of scientific sources and strategies for finding them, working with sources, and plagiarism. The classes ended with presentations of research papers by groups of graduate students. In total, 20 students of different years of study at the UIPA graduate program took part in the training. Municipal energy management project in Vyshgorod successfully completed

Despite the fact that the war continues in Ukraine, the electricity is regularly switch off and others problems and difficulties the project of municipal energy management Vyshgorod had finished in time.

The next steps of thermal modernization were made completely:

  1. replacement of windows for more energy-efficient;
  2. insulation of building’s roof;
  3. insulation of walls;
  4. installation of an individual heating unit;
  5. installing recuperators in each room;
  6. installation of ventilation and fire systems.

UIPA postgraduate students started a course with a lecturer from the University of Konstanz (Germany) within the DAAD project

Within the framework of the project “Digital Ukraine: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis” project of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), implemented at UIPA together with the University of Konstanz (Germany), the postgraduate students have started the course “Theory and Methodology of Scientific Work”. The course is taught by Oksana Melnyk, a lecturer at the Department of Business and Economic Education I of the University of Konstanz (https://www.wiwi.uni-konstanz.de/en/deissinger/staff/academic-staff-members/academic-staff-members/oksana-melnyk/).

The training is conducted in Ukrainian, but with the involvement of European experience and English-language sources. The course focuses on writing a research paper, working with sources, preventing plagiarism, and creating a presentation of the work. The course is worth a total of three academic credits.

Municipal energy management project in Vyshhorod at the final stage

The work of the Ukrainian-German project on municipal energy management in Vyshgorod, Kyiv region, was continued after the re-establishment of financing chains and provision of quality materials.

Currently it is fully completed:

  • Replacement of windows.
  • Roof insulation.

The following stages of work have been started:

  • Insulation of facades.
  • Installation of an individual heating point.
  • Installation of air recuperators.
  • Installation of ventilation and fire protection system.

Olga Blagiy completed her scientific internship under the CEEPUS program

The Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogical Academy has joined the Central European Mobility Program for university researching CEEPUS, which is being implemented for the first time for Ukrainians.

From June 26 to July 9, 2022 Senior Lecturer of Food Technologies, light industry and design Department Olga Blahyi was invited to the scientific fellowship under the CEEPUS program, namely Summer School “Economic, ecological and social aspects of food waste” in Rzeszow (Poland).

Coordinators of the International Scientific School dr. Maciej Kluz (head of the Podkarpacie branch of the Polish Society of Food Technologists, Rector’s Coordinator for National Agency for Academic Exchange Projects) and Karol Pietrzyk (PhD student) prepared high-value and active program, which was provided at the best level. During the first week, teacher staff of the Institute of food technologies and human nutrition of the University of Rzeszow conducted guided tours of the Department, presented the modern equipment and performed a series of master-classes on making kombucha and chips from processed bananas. During the second week of the internship was reviewed the chocolate production line at Korczyna – M . Pelczar. Was held workshops on making Neapolitan pizza and national dishes from different countries of the world. In the economic and ecological direction was visited the waste processing factory and participated in the workshop “Flora and fauna of example ecosystems and the possibilities of using Lumbricidae for green recycling”. The Municipal Energy Management in Vyshgorod project is going on

NakopaRussian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine significantly affected the Ukrainian-German project “Environmental Municipal Energy Consumption Management” (Nakopa-E-UKR-3-19) within the framework of the Municipal Energy Management in Vyshgorod, Kyiv region, in which Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogics Academy is engaged.

The municipal building, intended for pilot modernization, happened to be located in the war zone. Russian troops were stopped a few kilometers away from Vyshgorod, and the city was bombed. Naturally, that the construction work on the project was suspended; and the building was used as a bomb shelter. However, the project participants kept in touch via Zoom service. Weekly meetings were held and attended by Vitaliy Sardak, Deputy Mayor of Vyshgorod; Frau Dr. Kessel, the Municipality of Eichenau employee; Herr Jürgen Koberlein-Kerler,  the Engineering Bureau Director;  Oleksandr Kupriyanov, Vice-Rector for Research Work at UEPA and Julia Oliynyk, Associate Professor at Physics, Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering Department, UEPA. UEPA has joined an international project to reduce energy consumption

Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy (UEPA) has become part of the scientific and practical project “Environmental Municipal Energy Consumption Management” (Nakopa-E-UKR-3-19) in the framework of municipal energy management in Vyshgorod, Kyiv region. The aim of the project, carried out by the communes of the Ukrainian city of Vyshhorod and German Eichenau, with additional funding from Engagement Global gGmbH, is to prove the possibility of a significant reduction in energy consumption in the Ukrainian climate. UEPA scientists became a Runner-up Best Paper Award Short Paper at ICL / IGIP 2020

Best paper_runner up shortCongratulations to the scientists of the Ukrainian Engineering – Pedagogics Academy for the Runner-up Best Paper Award Short Paper at the International Conference “ICL – 2020 Educating Engineers for Future Industrial Revolutions”. The conference took place in Tallinn (Estonia) on the basis of the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech).

This year more than 200 articles were presented at the conference, which was held on-line.
